Spot Welding Machines PCBA OEM Service
Milliseconds decide the joint. TECOO assembles pulse-timing and discharge control boards for spot welding machines, where current runs into thousands of amps for a few milliseconds and a timing error shows up directly as a weak weld.

Product Introduction
NOTICE TO BUYERS:
We are a Professional Electronics Contract Manufacturer (EMS). We do NOT sell retail or off-the-shelf ready-to-ship replacement boards. All products shown are custom manufacturing cases protected by client NDA. To get a formal quotation within 24 hours, please provide:
- Gerber Files (RS-274X)
- Complete BOM List (with manufacturer part numbers)
- Estimated Order Volume (Prototype or Mass Production)
Board Set We Produce
A spot welding machine typically carries two or three distinct boards. The pulse control board holds the timing logic, weld schedule storage, and operator interface handling. The discharge board carries the switching devices and the high-current path from the energy storage stage to the electrodes. Where the machine has a front panel, a separate interface board handles displays, buttons, and parameter entry. We build these as a set or individually, with weld schedule firmware loaded before shipment when the customer supplies it.
Pulse-Current Construction
Pulse boards are built around current handling rather than signal density. Copper runs up to 4oz with trace widths sized for the pulse current, and layouts keep the discharge loop short and low-inductance so the pulse rises cleanly instead of ringing. Switching devices - SCR, MOSFET, or IGBT depending on the topology - sit on aluminum-base sections or copper-spread areas with thermal vias beneath them, since repeated pulsing builds heat even though each pulse is brief. Terminal and electrode connections use heavy through-hole pads reinforced for mechanical stress. Boards are held to IPC-A-610 Class 2 or Class 3.
Timing & Build Control
Because weld quality depends on timing repeatability, the build process is controlled for consistency rather than speed. SMT placement runs at ±0.03mm so timing-critical components land identically board to board, and reflow profiles are tuned per copper load. Heavy terminals are attached by selective or hand soldering after reflow. Inspection uses 100% AOI with X-Ray on switching areas, and functional testing can include pulse output verification so the customer receives boards with confirmed discharge behaviour rather than bare continuity.
Consistency Checks
The failure mode for a spot welding board is rarely total - it is drift. A board that welds slightly weaker on every hundredth pulse will pass a bench check and still generate scrap at the customer's line. Builds are therefore controlled for unit-to-unit consistency: consistent component placement, consistent soldering, and where specified, verified pulse output before shipment. Lots are traceable from bare board to finished assembly. TECOO brings 24 years of industrial electronics manufacturing to these builds.
FAQ
- Is this a replacement board I can order? No. It is a project example; every board is built from the customer's own files.
- Do you build capacitor-discharge as well as transformer spot welders? Yes. Both topologies are supported, and the switching section is laid out to suit whichever the design uses.
- Can you supply boards for battery tab welding specifically? Yes. Battery tab and pack welding is the most common application we build these boards for.
- Will you load the weld schedule firmware? Yes, when the customer supplies the firmware and parameters, they are programmed and verified before shipment.
- What is needed to quote? Gerber (RS-274X), BOM with manufacturer part numbers, and an estimated order volume.
